The Academy of Potential Education recognises that the UK is a diverse and multicultural community made up of women and men of differing colour, ethnic origin and nationality, sexual orientation, socio-economic grouping, family circumstances, physical and mental ability, age, language, beliefs, religion, political and social ideals.
The Academy’s vision is to be a place where all its members are supported to learn and develop their highest potential with a strong foundation in lifelong health and happiness. We aim to promote equal opportunity and prevent all forms of negative discrimination through education and training in life technology, as we believe this is a simple, direct and peaceful way to solve problems at every level.

3. We will monitor
our personal behaviour to do our best to provide good examples and continually put the policy into practice in our daily lives.

Implementation |

1. The Equal Opportunity Policy will be published on the website.
2. Related procedures will be available to staff through the Quality Management System and specific procedure documents.
3. Student related procedures will be available through the website and student handbook.
4. Induction programmes for staff & students will contain Equal Opportunity principles, and responsibilities.
5. All staff will ensure that individuals are guided and supported by relevant information regarding equal opportunity procedures & principles.
6. Staff training programmes will incorporate general and specific matters relating to Equal Opportunities with particular reference to new and developing guidance on legislation.
7. Any member of the Academy who believes himself or herself to have been subjected to unfair treatment as described in this policy & associated procedures should report their concern to a tutor or the Principal.
Grievances and incidents |

1. The Academy's grievance procedures are available to any student, member of staff or visitor who believes he or she may have been unfairly discriminated against.
2. Complaints of this nature will be dealt with seriously, in confidence and as soon as possible.
Monitoring |
|
1. This policy will be reviewed by the Principal on an annual basis as part of the Quality Improvement Plan (each August).
